When Grae Drake (aka. Ms. MovieFone) was in 6th grade, arranging movie outings for her friends, SHE picked the movie. Years later, after studying film at the University of Texas at Austin, working as a filmmaker, editor and writer in Los Angeles, and being honored by Sundance and the Director’s Guild of America, she realized one important thing: She was simply TERRIBLE at keeping her opinions to herself.
Grae's passion gave birth to The Popcorn Mafia podcast, a gig at Fandango.com, and got her mug on TV every week as CNN’s movie critic. Inevitably, her cult following of fanboys, fangirls and pop culture nerds hit a tipping point. Rotten Tomatoes made her their Senior Video Editor, until she became the new face of all things movies: Ms. MovieFone. Clearly shooting her mouth off about movies was a GOOD thing.
Today, her reviews and celebrity interviews continue to inform and entertain the masses. Whether she's dishing dirt with stars on HLN’s Weekend Express, Fox News or ABC World News Now, prowling the red carpet, making press junkets fun, doing broadcast and satellite radio, podcasting, or joining panelists at pop culture conventions, her opinions cannot be silenced. One thing has NOT changed though: Grae STILL picks the movie.
